It is perfectly safe when used appropriately by people without serious medical complications. I was able to buy it in pure bulk/tea (herb) forn since I was a teen and use it from time to time for various reasons with out any ill effects. Think of it as a sharp knife and treat it with respect or hurt yourself. Oh and I am no longer able to find this bulf herb due the panic of suppliers which annoyes me greatly.
