I only wish oxycontin has only killed 100 people. Satin himself made oxycontin, if you dont believe me go to a web site called oxyabusekills.com/victims. I hope you all will relize how addicting and fatal oxycontin truly is.

The FDA, pompus self righteous do nothing hypocrites who have N O T H I N G to say about alchohol related deaths kill over 140,000 a year and they are getting their knickers in a twit over 100 deaths?? (laughing) Stupendous!

"OxyContin is a long-lasting version of oxycodone, a narcotic that is prescribed to patients suffering long-term, severe pain from cancer or other illnesses. The tablet provides 12 hours of pain relief when swallowed whole.

OxyContin can produce a quick and potentially lethal high if chewed, snorted or injected. It has been linked to more than 100 deaths and has the FDA's strongest warning label, which says the drug is as potentially addictive as morphine"

I TOO WAS NOT WARNED BY SMITH & WESSON THAT THE "SAFETY FEATURE" COULD BE REMOVED BY SIMPLY FLIPPING A SWITCH HAD NO TWEEZERS TO REVERSE IT WHEN HE HAD A SELF INFFLICTED GUN SHOT WOUND AND HE DIED IN FRONT OF 4 FRIENDS NONE OF WHOM DIALED 911 BECAUSE THEY WERE HOLDING IT WITH HIM. I GAVE IT TO HIM IN COMPASSION TO RELIEVE HIS PAIN AND SUFFERING BUT I WAS MISLED BY THE COMPANY ABOUT ITS SAFETY DESIGN AND I LOST MY MENTAL HEALTH LICENSE AND MEANS OF MAKING A LIVING. I LIVE IMPOVERISHED ON A SMALL SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK BECAUSE OF THE INSENSITIVE GREED AND LYING OF SMITH & WESSON AND SELLING A GUN TO A MORON. GUNS ARE A MECHANICAL DEVICE AND ITS USE SHOULD BE CONFINED TO SHOOTING RANGE SETTINGS ONLY. WALTHER AND BROWNING ARE NOT KNOWN FOR STOPPING BREATHING AND KILLING PEOPLE LIKE SMITH & WESSON. NO RESEARCH WAS EVER DONE BY SMITH & WESSON AND THEIR CLAIMS ARE ALL FALSE AND MISLEADING. IT KILLED MY FRIEND AND DESTROYED MY LIVING ROOM WALLS AND I SUFFER ON IN SHAME,POVERTY AND DISGRACE AND THERE IS ONLY A LARGE SUM OF MONEY TO TREAT THIS KIND OF PAIN WITH...........

Just insert whatever item instead of Oxycontin or Purdue Pharmaca and it's the same old story. It isn't MY FAULT.. It's some else fault. I'm a moron is there a LAWYER IN THE HOUSE!

FACT: If taken as PRESCRIBED by a PHYSICIAN there is NO WAY IN HELL you can become addicted. You can become DEPENDENT when taken as prescribed because you need it for pain and your body has become accustomed to it. If taken every 10-12 hours regularly as PRESCRIBED it keeps a steady rate of pain killing medicine in your system. If you are a moron and take it at NON-REGULARY intervals you will have ADDICTION symptoms. If you are taking "break through" pain medicines you are headed for disaster. All you are doing is setting your self up for ADDICTION. elevating or rollercoasting the narcotics in your system. Oxycontin is designed for a CONSTANT RATE of the drug. THIS IS A FACT. If you go up in dosage you go up GRADUALLY just like you lower your does GRADUALLY. Those of us who are FOLLOWING DOCTORS PRESCRIPTIONS know this. All the rest is just smoke and talk...

to victoria(and any other fibro sufferers): i also suffered from severe pain from fibro/nerve damage i also have pain from failed back surgury. i have had 5 surgeries in my lower back and 2 in the cervical area. i have been in 4 major auto accidents, the last one 2 yrs ago. let me tell you i know about pain and i know about pain killers. about 3 yrs ago i was diagnosed with fibro. ok that explains why i still hurt all the time even tho i was taking a lot of pain killers. i was on lortab then oxycontin. my dr said it wont do any good to take pain meds for fibro and she was right it didnt help at all for that pain. i just met a dr who told me about a new anti depressant that is also used for nerve pain. it is called cymbalta and i strongly urge you to talk to your dr about it. i started taking it just last week and i can already feel the difference. the med is called cymbalta, it is not habit forming (physically dependent) or psychologically addicted (there is a big difference in those two things)and you dont build up a tolerance to it (you dont need stronger and stronger doses to get the same pain relief). good luck

I have side effects from cancer treatment that have left me with a great deal of pain. Oxycontin works great and I experience no pain. I do not get any buzz or euphoria and have talked with other pain patients and the drug works but we don't experience any 'additional' feelings. I certainly hope the DEA and other Federal groups leave it up to the doctor and patient to determine what is proper.

I just began taking 20mg Oxycontin twice a day for Fibromayalgia (FM) and Insterstitial Cystitis (IC)The Oxy helps my IC but doesn't help much with my fibro. My ankles, knees and hips still feel broken--I can barely walk. I tried Vicodin 5/500 for several months with no relief. The oxy works SORT OF if I stay in bed off my feet. Grateful it knocks out the IC pain though. I don't like the way I feel on Oxy and don't understand how people can become addicted. It's somewhat unplesant, and I'm often drowsy in the daytime. But I figure it's better than all that Tylenol in the Hydrocone. As far as pain meds go, I need something stronger but no idea what. It's awful trying to walk when it feels like your ankles, knees and hips are broken. (yes, it's definately fibromyalgia--a severe "flare.") Glad Oxy is helping others, and please don't blame the maufacturer. The insert is quite clear about dosage and NOT breaking up the pills. I'll continue to take it despite the nausea and hope it will eventually work. Chronic and severe pain ruins your life--anything that helps is welcome. About Dr. paranoia--that's a shame. My best friend is a Dr. in Spain and says it's common practice to get people out of pain first, and deal with any addiction issues later. I agree--it's a quality of life issue. I won't get addicted to Oxy, I just want relief. Addicts are ruining it for the rest of us. Hear that, Rush Limbaugh???
