Fredericksburg, Virginia -– Authorities confirmed eighth death had been linked to the sniper responsible for 10 attacks in the Washington area — and reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of killer is up to half a million dollars.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Maj. Howard Smith said ballistic evidence showed Kenneth Bridges, hit once in the back as he stood at a gas station, was the latest victim in a two-week shooting spree. Witnesses Friday reported seeing a white van leaving the shooting scene. Authorities are searching for a white van, and Col W. Gerald Massengill, superintendent of Virginia State Police, cautioned the public not to focus only on white vans.
