Bayer AG said it had settled 1,042 lawsuits over its recalled anti-cholesterol drug Baycol out of court, which was linked with over 100 deaths, in August 2001.

“We have settled several cases scheduled for the beginning of July in Oregon and Mississippi. As far as we know there are no other cases going to trial in July,” a Bayer spokeswoman said.

The company also faces a move to get several Baycol lawsuits categorized as a class action in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
