Washington — President Bush signed a congressional resolution Wednesday authorizing him to commit U.S. troops to enforce U.N. resolutions mandating Iraq give up its efforts to develop chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. Iraq has denied having weapons of mass destruction and has offered to allow U.N. weapons inspectors to return for the first time since 1998.

The congressional measure requires Bush to declare to Congress either before or within 48 hours after beginning military action. The measure also requires Bush to report the progress of any war with Iraq every 60 days.

I think that this war shouldn’t be going on just because of the new President. The shouldn’t involve innocent people. They Presidents should all fight fairly instead of having all people fight under one person. Thank you

I have to be honest with you, President Bush is doing what he needs to – to keep this country safe. The American people need to understand that the President will not be able to disclose certain things all the time. We nned to get into Iraq and get hose weapons of mass destruction. We need to crush once and for all this terrorist regime and restore America’s hope and trust in their government, while simultaneously, being a model for nations to follow. Only President Bush can bring about this lasting peace. Vote for him!
