A San Francisco law firm last month filed an antitrust lawsuit against 15 of the world’s largest drug makers, alleging they have illegally conspired to inflate U.S. drug prices, The Associated Press reported.

The lawsuit, filed in Alameda County court in Oakland on behalf of nineteen California pharmacies, charges the 15 drug makers with violating California’s antitrust and unfair business practices laws.

“We are being charged higher prices than foreigners are being charged,” said Joseph Alioto, representing the pharmacies. “If we are selling the same drug we want to pay the same prices as everyone else.”

Pfizer, Merck, Bristol-Myers Squibb, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson and Abbott Laboratories are named as defendants in the lawsuit.
