Manufactures and retailers of Ephedra supplements have begun to scale back or abandon sales of products containing the herb, because of the rising costs of liability insurance and the threat of a possible government crackdown on Ephedra. The moves follow several months of bad publicity.
Growing concerns over the safety of Ephedra prompted, In June, the Bush Administration to order a scientific review of the herb. Two month later, the Justice Department launched a probe into whether the leading seller of Ephedra, Metabolife International, lied about the safety of its products.
Twinlab Corp., which sells Ephedra supplements under the brands Ripped Fuel and Metabolift, announced it was going to discontinue them. Herbalife has begun phasing out its three Ephedra products.

All I can say is pathetic! It is perfectly safe when used appropriately by people without serious medical complications. I was able to buy it in pure bulk/tea (herb) forn since I was a teen and use it from time to time for various reasons with out any ill effects. Think of it as a sharp knife and treat it with respect or hurt yourself.
Oh and I am no longer able to find this bulf herb due the panic of suppliers which annoyes me greatly.
